Kathy Vu

Kathy Vu is a third year Business Administration major with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Digital Arts due to her interest in design. She was originally born in Arizona, but was raised in the interestingly cultured streets of San Jose, California.

Family is the most important aspect of Kathy’s life. Being raised in a strict and traditional Vietnamese/ Chinese family has taught her the values of life and the little things that matter. She is also extremely big on music; there is almost never a time where she won't have music playing. Her favorite kind of music is dubstep and old school R&B, but she also loves to listen to underground/not well-known artists or whatever else seems to catch her attention. Kathy loves to eat which suits her family line well. She loves all kinds of food but most particularly sushi, Vietnamese food, or pasta.  Her goal in life is to travel the world; going to every continent and region possible. She loves the idea of learning about a new culture and seeing how their life differs from everything she’s been raised with.

In high school, Kathy was actively involved in school activities. By her senior year of high school, she was president of the Vietnamese Student Association, Officer of Hours for the National Honor society, Co-Captain of the Varsity tennis team for two years out of three, and she also played Varsity Badminton for three years. She was also heavily involved with school activities to keep herself busy.

Her career interest has been fluctuating but because of her interest in design, she would like to pursue a career on the more creative side. Since her position as Senior Vice President, she has also been considering becoming an event planner regardless of the high level of stress. She originally had an interest in marketing because she enjoyed learning about the human psyche and the reasons behind why they do things.

Kathy is known for her interesting laugh, as well as her awkwardly clumsy nature. She’s always been a hopeless romantic and that’s always shaped how she viewed the world and life in general. Of course, she loves those sappy movies but she has a broad range of interests so she's not just a sappy weird girl. She's more of an introverted person so she enjoys listening and having deep conversations that actually matter. Kathy loves dinosaurs; she has a giant stuffed dinosaur named Rufus. :)

Since pledging for Delta Sigma Pi and being initiated into the fraternity, Kathy has learned a lot about herself. Pledging was one of the best and worst things that she has ever been through and she never regrets a second of it. She’s met such amazing people who has influenced her life for the better and has developed herself professionally. Currently, she is an Industry Marketing Solutions Intern at Kofax, a software company. The first internship she received was after being initaited into the chapter; it with WATG (Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo), a design and architecture firm.
