Michael Toy is a fourth year Business Administration and International Studies Major. He is interested in pursuing a career in international business. He grew up in San Mateo, located in Northern California. From early on, he has always been interested in business, especially finance. More recently, however he has developed a passion for the international component of business. To become better acquainted with how business can differ from country to country, he has studied abroad two times. The first time he studied abroad, he took classes in Mandarin Chinese as well as Chinese culture at Beijing Normal University (BNU). The second time he went abroad was in Hong Kong, where he attended the University of Hong Kong (HKU). There he was able to collaborate on a series of projects with a diverse international team.
Delta Sigma Pi has had a tremendous impact on Michael’s life. He pledged fall quarter of his second year and greatly enjoyed the pledging process. The bond that he has with his collegiate chapter from Delta Sigma Pi will last forever. The Fraternity has helped him develop into the business professional he is today. It is through a fellow brother that he was able to intern with Global Sourcing Solutions Inc., in the financial department. This past fall quarter, he served as the Vice President of Community Service.
Michael is passionate about three things in life. Foremost, Michael loves to travel which is why he chose to study abroad twice. He loves to experience new places and cultures as well as foods, which leads to his second passion: food. Michael loves to cook and learn about food. Finally, Michael is very passionate about architecture.
