Melody Chow is currently a third year Business Economics major at University of California, Irvine. She expects to graduate in Spring 2011. Ms. Chow was born in Hong Kong and moved to the states with her family after finishing the seventh grade. She lived in Alhambra for a year and moved to Arcadia for high school. She graduated from Arcadia High School, CA, in 2007. Ms. Chow is passionate about travelling and music. She travels every year with her family and has been to eight countries. Ms. Chow also plays the piano. She started when she was five and completed all the exams by high school senior year. Ms. Chow was on the percussion team for two years in high school and had many invaluable experience and memories with her teammates. In her free time, Ms. Chow likes to hang out with her friends and family. She loves going out to eat and shopping. She enjoys spending time on the beach. She also loves photography and art. Ms. Chow’s first job was with Arcadia Unified School District, where she worked as a student worker in the accounting department. She started in sophomore year in High School and ended before entering college. After Ms. Chow started her first year in UCI, she has been searching for different clubs and organizations to join. She was part of Chinese Association and was an active member for a year. Going towards her second year, she started looking into organizations that could be beneficial to her future career. She heard about Delta Sigma Pi from a friend and decided to attend their recruitment events. Ms. Chow then went through the pledging process in Winter Quarter 2009. Throughout the pledging process and after being initiated in the fraternity for a year, Ms. Chow has improved herself personally and professionally. She learned how to present herself in different settings. Professional events such as resume workshop and interview technique workshop have benefited Ms. Chow when it comes to job interviews. In October 2009, Ms. Chow is hired by a newly started technology licensing company, Acacia, where she is currently working at as an accounting assistant. Overall, Delta Sigma Pi and past experience has helped Ms. Chow develop good work ethics, leadership, and professionalism. |
