Mr. Felix Du is currently a junior at University of California, Irvine, majoring in Business Economics. He is expected to graduate in the spring of 2011. Mr. Du was born and raised in Shanghai, China until fifth grade and moved to Diamond Bar, California to start sixth grade. Prior to coming to UCI, Mr. Du attended Diamond Bar High School from 2003 to 2007. Mr. Du has always been majoring in Business Economics at UCI with great enjoyment. He has a strong interest in the financial field and hopes to work as a financial analyst after graduation. Mr. Du is working for his second internship at Broadcom Corporation. He currently works for the Global Real Estate Budgeting team and is in charge of creating annual budgeting reports for the 70+ global locations of Broadcom. Prior to obtaining his current internship, Mr. Du had his first internship at Broadcom working for the Business Intelligence team. The BI team introduced him to the field of Information Technology (IT) which he believes it’s extremely important in almost all business fields. Mr. Du started in Broadcom in the beginning of his sophomore year and he has been working there for more than a year now. Mr. Du pledged for Delta Sigma Pi as a part of the Epsilon class where he served as the Vice President of Finance. His duty included collecting dues, bookkeeping all raised funds and balancing all revenue with expense. For him, pledging at Delta Sigma Pi was a memorable experience that he will never forget. Mr. Du enjoyed his bond with fellow pledges and had many life lessons from the collegians of Delta Sigma Pi. Most importantly, he held an open mind that helped him to absorb as much knowledge and experience as he could while pledging. Mr. Du currently holds the position of Fundraising Chair, his duties include setting up plans and gathering all brothers from the chapter to attend any possible fundraising event, contacting all potential corporations that the Fraternity can corporate with for fundraising. It is also an important task for him to maintain a friendly relationship with the potential fundraising partners. Mr. Du believes that having a position and carrying out tasks are important because his contribution ultimately turns into valuable experience that will be very beneficial in life. Prior to joining Delta Sigma Pi, Mr. Du was the Vice President of Marketing at Undergraduate Chinese Student Union, a student organization at UCI. He enjoyed his position because he had the chance to meet a variety of students on campus as well as cultural organizations off campus. However, he wanted to meet more people that he can share similar career goals with while obtaining experience that will shape him in real life working environments. Turned out, Mr. Du had the privilege to join Delta Sigma Pi and it remained to be his best experience at UCI. During his free time, Mr. Du enjoys watching movies and basketball, hanging out with friends, and traveling. Whether it’s a one day trip to San Diego or a month getaway to an Asian city, he loves exploring new places and meeting new people. Finally, Mr. Du values the importance of having a balanced school, work and social life. |
