Peter Myung

Peter Myung is a Republic of Korea native who immigrated to United States when he was twelve years old. He has resided in South Pasadena, California all his life after coming to America. Despite living in America for more than a decade, he is still fluent in Korean as well as English. For three years after graduating from high school, he has attended Pasadena City College before transferring to University of California, Irvine. Currently, he is a junior majoring in Business Economics after debating between Sociology and International Studies.

During his three-year attendance at Pasadena City College, Peter has worked in various industries. First job he has ever worked was at a local tofu house. Although the minimum wage at the time was $6.75, he received patty $5.50 per an hour under the table. Nevertheless, the grueling experience from that restaurant prompted him to show a deep interest in the service industry. Since then, he has worked at two more restaurants, achieving the assistant manager position in the end. Another notable work experience includes a yearlong stay at D. E. Accountancy Corporation as a bookkeeper/secretary. Through working directly under the CEO of the small local accounting firm, he was able to get a hands-on experience in the public accounting industry.

Currently, Peter has not picked out a set course on career path but plans to observe the job market more than anything. With the market being so depleted of fresh jobs, he is looking to jump into whichever niche-industry that is on the rise. However, Peter hopes to manage his own restaurant in the long run.

In his free time, Peter enjoys snowboarding and when snow’s not present he goes skateboarding around the blocks. His iTunes playlists are compiled of a wide selection of rock, hip hop, raggae, and house music. Out of his favorite artists, the most notable groups include Incubus, Daft Punk, Slightly Stoopid, and the Doors.
