Cherry Y. Chen fourth year Business Economics major at the University of California, Irvine. She is expected to graduate in June of 2010. Ms. Chen immigrated to the United States from China at the age of 14. As a result, she is bilingual and fluent in Mandarin. Her cousin, a political science major who graduated from University of California, Berkeley in June of 2005, now studies at Loyola Chicago University. She currently works part time at the Loeb & Loeb LLP as a Litigation Paralegal. She is a role model in Ms. Chen’s life. Ms. Chen has also learned advertising, marketing strategies, and skills from her neighbor who works at the Pulsar Advertising located in Beverly Hills as the Associate Creative Director. Ms. Chen has taken Math2A-B-4, Basic Economics20A-B, and Economics of Accounting Decision 25, Probability and Statistics in Economics15A-B, Intermediate Economics 100A-B-C, Econometrics 122A-B, Business Decisions in Economics 149, Corporate Finance in Economics 132A, and Introduction to Financial Investment in Economics 132A. Apart from academics, she is also a great dancer. She loves dancing and exceeds in Latin Dancing. Ms. Chen volunteers at the American Red Cross Association. In addition to volunteering, she has also helped the association fundraise money. She has also participated in Blood, Toy, Food, Clothing, and Daily Supply Drives as team leaders. Furthermore, Ms. Chen has work experience in a variety of fields. She has done an internship at the Bank of American Santa Monica Branch from November 2004 to February 2005. Recently, she has resigned her caller position at the UCI Telephone Outreach Program in order to put more focus on school work. Lastly, Ms. Chen has been working at the Chen’s Chinese Medical Center as the Assistant of the General Manager since July 2006. Currently, Ms. Chen is interning at Lincoln Financial Group. At work, Ms. Chen performs tasks in portfolio management, private investments, life insurance, and retirement planning. As a member of Delta Sigma Pi, Cherry Y. Chen has held several positions since the start of the Fraternity. In order, she was the Fundraising Chair, Senior Vice President, Vice President of Finance, and currently Vice President of Pledge Education. |
